Rubbish and Recycling Collection Changes
There have been major changes to the TCDC Rubbish and Recycling Services introduced from September this year. Full details can be found on the TCDC website here. The calendar displayed on this website has now been updated, and you can see the next collection on each page woth a sidebar, or look at the complete schedule by clicking “View Calendar”. Key things to remember are:
- Red week for collection of your rubbish and food scraps
- Yellow week for collection of your mixed recycling, glass and food scraps
- Payment will be via a Pay As You Throw (PAYT) system. You will need to buy a PAYT tag for $8 from a participating retailer and attach that tag to the rubbish bin lid before collection

Kiwi Avoidance Training for Dogs
Sheila Westley from Project Kiwi will be running sessions at Kūaotunu on December 16th 2023 and January 6th 2024for pets and working / hunting dogs over 6 months old.
The 15 minutes sessions will run from approximately 9am to 12 noon on each of the designated days. To book a session please phone 07 867 9080 or text 021 716514.
These sessions offer DoC certified training, and are increasingly important with the increasing numbers of Kiwis throughout the peninsula.
